International Science Student Scholarships

NEW: McMaster University Award of Excellence is a prestigious entrance award and is presented to a student who exemplifies the highest standards of academic and personal achievement.

The recipient will:

  • Have a strong history of academic excellence
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community excellence
  • Show great potential as a student scholar at McMaster University
  • Exemplify McMaster University鈥檚 values of excellence, engagement, and personal growth.

Award value: Up to $200,000* over four years

Renewable each year in Level 2-4 for a total of four years. Students are required to be enrolled in the Faculty of Science, maintain full-time enrolment status and continue to pay international student tuition fees

Applicants to a McMaster Science program must apply through by听February 19, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. If you have not yet applied to McMaster, please first submit an application through .

*Award amounts are determined by the Faculty and are based on the student鈥檚 enrolled course load as required by their program. The final value will be confirmed following enrolment.

$10,000 Science Global Scholars Award

To recognize your excellent academic achievements and to help offset your education costs, effective September 2024, we are awarding all Level I registered full-time international tuition fee-paying students the Science Global Scholars Award, valued at $10,000 upon entry to any Faculty of Science undergraduate program.

Important Note: The Science Global Scholars听Award is a renewable award for international students enrolled full-time (Fall/Winter term) who are paying international tuition fees. Should your tuition change to domestic fees, you will no longer be eligible for this award.

Eligible Program Value
Any Level I Science Program $10,000

Minimum Eligibility: To be awarded to international undergraduate students entering Level I in the Faculty of Science.

$7,500 Science Global Scholars Award

International students admitted in September 2024 are eligible for the Science Global Scholars Award valued at $7,500 each year (Level II-IV) of their studies. They must be registered full-time, paying international fees, and in good standing in an Honours Faculty of Science program (cGPA of 5.0 or higher) to be eligible for this award beginning in 2025.

Important Note:听The Science Global Scholars Award is a renewable award for international students enrolled full-time (Fall/Winter term) who are paying international tuition fees. Should your tuition change to domestic fees, you will no longer be eligible for this award.

Eligible Program Value
Level II-IV of an Honours Science Program
(Renewable annually)		 $7,500

Minimum Eligibility Effective September 2025:听to be awarded to international undergraduate students entering Level II-IV in the Faculty of Science.
